Chelsea's Gift, Adriana and Deep Blue Sea

I got lots of stitching in this week.
After I finished part 4 of Adriana and while I waited for part 5, I pulled out my block for Chelsea's gift.  This is one block out of 20 for this chart from HAED.  It's being tent stitched on 25 ct Lugana.  I've tried tenting before but didn't really care for it.  This time around I've discovered that while tenting is much faster than completing each little x, I have problems with my counting.  At least more trouble than normal, lol!

Anyway, I got this far by Thursday night.  Before was only a couple hundred stitches.  It seemed like half of those had to come out though since I had miscounted.

When this comes back out in mid February, I'm looking forward to some of the bright colors in this piece.

Then to take a break from the tenting, I pulled Adriana back out.  I finished part 5 this afternoon.  Would have been done sooner but almost everything in this part has some kind of backstitching.  It definately makes those edges sharper against the fabric though.

Lastly, by not least, comes Deep Blue Sea again.  Martina released part two today and I printed it off as soon as I saw it.  This is the top edge complete.  From here to the right edge are little over 1 starfish and some beading.  I'm hoping to be able to have this whole part done by the end of the week.

Wish me luck!

IHSW!

I joined Joyce's SAL this month with the hopes it will keep me motivated!
After I finished part 1 of DBS I've been stitching on Adriana again.  This one is getting very close to being done with just two more parts to go.  The backstitching is a bear but it really makes everything pop!

Now, I've got to go pull out Chelsea's gift and get some done on my square.  I've been slacking!  I think in part because it's being tent stitched and that is not one of my favorite things to do.  But! I will persevere!

Deep Blue Sea

Since I've had a fairly quiet weekend I've managed to finish part one of Deep Blue Sea.  Since the next part doesn't come out for two more weeks, I'm going to pull Adriana back out so it can get some love and creep closer to what will probably be my first finish of 2012.

I've been thinking about the Sticklounge group.  I've been stitching a lot of with them which interferes with all my other WIPs.  I'm thinking I'm going to back off on the number of pieces I stitch with them.  I've got two large WIPs with them that will keep my membership current so I can concentrate on some finishes!

Oops?

I just wanted to share something that came up on the HDF BB.  The converter shows Tiger Lily is the conversion for the Gloriana Topiary.  However, Vikki has done another conversion for Topiary.  It is Examplar August.  My pic shows both colors together with Tiger Lily on the left and Ex. August on the right.  They are really similar colors.  At this point, I don't know if I'll order the Ex. August or wait and see how its used.  It does not appear in part one of DBS!  BUT I did want to make sure anyone using my conversion was aware of another possible conversion for this color.

2012 Wipacolypse

I'm taking part in the 2012 WIPacolypse that Measi is hosting.  You can still join by leaving a comment here until the 15th.  I'm hoping to clear out several of my WIPs by the end of the year!

Since the full moon is the 9th, I'm posting a picture of my New Year's start which is on my WIPacolypse list.  this is Chatelaine's 2012 Mystery The Deep Blue Sea.  This part is supposed to be a plankton.  I converted all the silks to HDF.  You can find the list under the conversions tab.  I'm making slow progress but I'm still missing one of the fibers from ABCstitch.  I e-mailed them last weekend and got a very unsatisfactory response.  I'll have to try them again see if anything has changed since were a week past New Years.

For now though, I'm off to fold a load of laundry, get another one started and stitch my little heart out for a couple more hours since DH is working today and my little guys are off playing at one of the neighbors.

Deep Blue Sea

I started Deep Blue Sea on 1/1 but I've been sidetracked by things like giving my youngest son's room it's first really thorough cleaning in what seems like forever.  Took what seemed like days to get it done but now the bifold doors are off the closet and all the toys have been gone through and donated.  Yay!

This is as far as I've gotten and I just discovered that my fabric isn't evenweave after all.  It's more like 26/28 ct.  I used the same fabric for Caribbean though and it didn't make a whole lot of difference so I'm going to stay with what I've got.  I'm loving the pop of colors on the black so far!
