Loneliness

Last Thursday, I finished page 3 of Loneliness of Autumn by Love Thy Thread.

Saturday, I started page 4

It doesn't feel like I got much done, but I also canned 3 quarts of pickled beets and 10 quarts of pickled green beans along with the usual laundry and a few hours work on my desk.

Tiny little jessica stitches!

I've still be working on Star Spangled Banner by Northern Expressions Needlework this week and have finished the first two strips.  I've been working on stripe 3 and decided I need a break from it.  Those jessica stitches are tiny on 40 ct fabric!

I pulled Warrior Alice from Eclectic Bloke Designs out and wasn't really feeling it.

When the boys went to bed, I went through some of my other WIPs and brought The Loneliness of Autumn by Love Thy Thread back upstairs with me.  This one, with all the confetti worked for me last night.

Heritage Sampler

I finally managed to finish the personalization in the second band of Heritage Sampler.  Don't look too close though since one of those vertical bands is not centered but it is NOT coming back out!

Towards the end of the second vertical band, I was switching back and forth with Star Spangled Banner's blue to get that done too.  Sunday, I had the blue and the stars done.  The stars were so much quicker than the blue.

I also managed to start the first red stripe.  There are 37 jessica stitches to the end of this stripe and twice that of rhodes stitches since there is one above and below each jessica.

I want to get this stripe done in the next couple of days before I rotate to something else.  I have goals yet to be met!

Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day!

Don't forget those that made our independence possible or who continue to keep us free!

Since we had a three day weekend, I spent a few hours Sunday working on the desk for my office.  It still needs to be sanded and finished but I've got the bulk of the work done.  I just have some tweaking to do before I start sanding.

Sunday, I also found a recipe for Blackberry Whipped Honey Butter.  I don't have blackberries but I have boysenberries.

It turned out yummy!

Saturday, I finished all the flower and leaves in the middle of the second band of Chatelaine's Heritage Sampler and had to decide what color to do the personalization.  I chose the middle one.  I believe it's HDF Examplar Curly Flavell.  I'll have to double check.

I started my this section last night.  I thought I'd double checked all my counts and had everything centered vertically, but no.  For two of the letters I wrote down 10 stitches less than they actually are so out this comes.

The boys picked the boysenberry bush this morning.  I got to make jam.  Lots and lots of jam.  I only quit when I ran out of sugar.  I only froze 3 quarts plus enough to make some Boysenberry butter for mom.  So not too bad.

Later, I need to go pick some jalapenos out of the garden since we're going to be grilling some poppers and burgers tonight while everyone in town lights off fireworks.

Stay safe out there!
