IHSW - July

OMG!!  It's been so freaking hot here that it only makes sense to stay inside and stitch!  I am still trying to work on Jakob's bed and I am making progress.  It is just slow while the poly dries sooooo fast.  I have his footboard done and his headboard is ready to be put together.  I cut the lumber for the boxes that his mattress will rest on and that will provide some much needed storage Sunday morning.  That's all the progress I made Sunday.  The weather forecast said it was supposed to hit 104F Sunday.  It was hot and nasty by 10am so stitching won out.

This is where I left Lust Friday.  I've made really good progress in the last week.  This is almost half  a page finished.

Then for swim lessons, I stuck Window in my bag and haven't put it down yet.  Last night almost saw page 11 finished, but I just couldn't quite make it.  I do have it done now though.

I'll probably be taking Window to work again tomorrow.  Our server crapped out on me today while I was working on payroll, so we'll have to see if I can get it back up or not.  Doesn't help that the boss has been gone for a week and will be gone again this one...especially since the auditor showed up this morning.  Thankfully, I printed off the reports I need to pull more info for.  He doesn't need to know that my computers are down!

I got a new movie in the mail last week that I haven't managed to watch yet and everybody's in bed.  So, I think I'll go pull the shrink wrap off it and stitch on Window for a bit before bed.

Updates and a new start.

I made it through another page of One Nation!  Then I move the q-snaps and couldn't face more letters.  Don't know why.  They've very easy letters to stitch.  Maybe it's the straight lines that border each stripe?  Don't know.  Could't do it.  So I pulled out another WIP.

This one happened to be Window.  I think this will be my swimming lessons piece this week.  I can't see trying to stitch over one at the pool.

Cause I've been working on Lust again.  So far so good.  Those little flames are their own little bit of confetti hell...each and every one, but there is lots of solid stitching on this page too for mini breaks.

Then yesterday, DH and I went and bought supplies for my newest WIP.  Doesn't look like much in this first picture, but this will eventually be a headboard and footboard for Jakob's bed.  I promised him I would build him one while he's in Oklahoma, so I have to stick by my word.  Haven't lied to that kid yet and don't intend to start.  You can find the plan for the headboard and footboard here.  But I'm planning on adding some storage underneath, which Jakob has approved, that you can find here.  The storage seems straight forward. I just have to change the size since I'm building for a twin bed and I believe that those plans are for a queen.  Shouldn't be too bad.  Build a box with dividers to determine the size of the drawers and go from there.

Famous last words...

Here's the main part of the footbard

One Nation

I haven't made as much progress on One Nation as I would have liked.  I've only managed those four rows under what will eventually be the stars.  We went to Oklahoma Thursday to take my oldest to stay with his Grandmother for three weeks and ended up being outside in 100+ degrees for most of those days.  Wasn't the best stitching weather.

I'm hoping to get to the bottom of the page tonight so I better get some more of my canning done!  I've canned 3 quarts and 3 pints of garlic dill pickles, 5 pints of pickled green beans and I've got pickled zucchini that is ready to go with pickle relish that will be ready in a couple of hours.

No rest for the wicked!

Spring Knotgarden

After I finished part 9 of Window I last week, I kept on and stitched part 10.  It's kind of nice with a Sticklounge SAL to be a little unconcerned about finishing.  The top is the same as the bottom, so I haven't even bothered printing off the new parts.  AND, if I'm almost current.  Part 11 was released mid June.

After finishing part 10 of Window, Spring Knotgarden has come back out.  I'm so close to a finish, I can almost taste it!  I just have to stitch the flowers in the corner and finish that last eighth of parts 5 and 6.  So close!

After I finish this, hopefully Monday or Tuesday, I'm going to pull One Nation out of the WIP drawer.  The last time I put any stitches into it was the end of June last year.  Since the 4th of July is this week, some patriotic stitching is appropriate.  Even better if I can push this much closer to a finish.  It's been a WIP since May 2010.  That's long enough.
