I framed a finish Sunday. Chatelaine's MM6 - Moonstone Garden now lives on the wall where I can enjoy it instead of rolled up and put away. I bought the frame in black, but it made the black fabric I stitched on look navy. A little silver spray paint later and this is what you get.

Here's a couple of WIP pics too.

I've been stitching Chatelaine's Frosty Knotgarden and am almost half way done with part two. I'm in the middle of stitching the PTB around the branches.

Then I started One Nation by Bygone Stitches. I really like how the Zaffre Cobalt is stiching up and contrasts with the White Chocolate. Both colors are from Hand Dyed Fibers

Wow! It's already been a long weekend and I'm tired! Just finished building and painting some new furniture for the patio. There's the bench that was first just to prove I could.

Then just to see how tired I could get, I build two Ariandock chairs and a table between them. Those I just finished and if the paint was dry, I'd be sitting in one of them with a cold, possibly alcoholic beverage. I'm gonna hurt tomorrow! Now I've got to plant 50 straberries and some other assorted plants and get the garden watered. There may be a stitchy update tomorrow. My DH will be getting home from his fishing trip tomorrow and my MIL will be here to go through some of my baby stuff. Not as much as I'd like though. I've got two boys and my youngest SIL is having a girl. Oh well, them's breaks!

I finally finished Glory and Honor! I didn't add any of the Mill Hill Treasures called for but I had some star buttons that were perfect for the corners. This piece has so many beads I thought I would let them carry the piece.

I got some new stash this week!! Yea!!

I got the silks and fabric for One Nation by ByGone Stitches. I'm using HDF Coffee 32 linen with 6SR DRagon Blood, Examplar White Chocolate and Zaffre Cobalt.

I also got HDF Light Coffee 32 ct linen with Premium Dragon Opal and Examplar Crushed Berry.

Since I finished Glory and Honor, I'm back to Chatelaine's Frosty Knotgargen!

Ok, here are the pictures.

This is the basement wall I've been working on. This is post stain.

Here's Chatelaine's MM6 - Moonstone Garden trying on a frame. It started out black but the black of the fabric looked odd. So a little silver spray paint later, here is what I've got.

Here's MM5 in a similiar frame. This frame came with a black mat that I sprayed too. It just isn't quite big enough though. I'll have to call and see if I could get the opening cut just a little bigger.

I actually think without mat looks better.

And last but not least...
This is where I am right now with Honor and Glory. Hopefully beads will be added soon!

Update your virus software!! I just had to do a system restore on my computer since it seems I got something nasty!!

I've spent part of this morning working on the wall in the basement again. All the wood is up and is now stained. I decided to go with a golden Oak stain. Ed was going for a rustic look and I think the stain will definiately contribute to that look. I'll have to put some polyurethane on the window casing but I'm still debating about putting any on the rest of the wall.

Now, my little boys and I are going to go buy some lumber. I need some trim for around the wall, around the window, on the floor and around the door. I also have to get a door. Thankfully all that will be finished outside. It's also all on sale!!

I put up pictures later today.

5/2/10

This severe weather season seems to have gotten started with a bang. Thursday night we had thunder, lightening, high winds and even a couple of tornados in the state. One was not very far from here. We'll just say that Ed was pretty wound up until about 11pm when things started calming down. The good news is we got over 1 1/2 inches of rain!

I've been busy in the basement again. It seems that if I want something done, I have to do it myself. I stayed home when he went to Oklahoma to work on a couple of projects and started working on the last wall in the guest room. Ed was supposed to finish it Friday while he was home from work, but decided other outdoor projects were more important. So, today, inbetween loads of laundry, I added another couple of feet of paneling. Here's the pic where I left off to let the adhesive dry. I need to add some nails since the adhesive doesn't seem to be terribly effective...especially before it dries. That's why the creative method of holding it to the studs.

Here's where I left Lust to start Honor and Glory

And here's where Honor and Glory is as of this morning. I should have read the chart a little more closely. Most of the openings in the stitched part are beads! Those are now ordered and have been shipped!

Part 2 of Frosty Knotgarden was released yesterday too and it's calling. We'll see how long I can resist!
