A Finish!

I had thought to finish Garden Verses last night but there will still 200+ stitches in the border before I got to the feathered pen!  Since I bring my stitching to work to pull out over lunch, I finished at the end of my lunch hour.  

HAED's Sea Witch is next out.  This one is on 28 ct Monaco I dyed 2x1 tent.  Page three is mostly black so I'm hoping I can get to a page finish soonish.

Almost...

I almost finished Garden Verses last night.  There just aren't enough hours in the day when you have to work the next morning.

Garden Verses 5/29/18

I'm still plugging along.  That uppermost row of stitches are the bottom of her chin.  I looks like I may just squeak an upper border but it looks like there will be one.  The top edge of the fabric is under the upper side of my qsnap.

While I'm not thrilled about how her hand looks, I am NOT going to rip it out to rechart.

Progress continues and I'm hoping to finish in the next couple of weeks.

Garden Verses 5/14/18

I made lots of progress on Garden Verses over the weekend.  The balustrade and railing are complete.  All the upper right corner needs is the metallic border but I want to do the upper left border first to make sure they match up.

I started on the papers in the lady's lap last night and hope to finish those tonight so I can move up to her top half!

A pineapple and rotation

This is my progress on Hawaii since my last post.  I finished the rhodes stitches in the pineapple while waiting for a track meet to start and that's as far as I got.  I just couldn't do any more for now.  I do love how the berries (or whatever they are) in the leaves turned out though!

Garden Verses was still sitting on the coffee table patiently waiting when I put Hawaii away so she went back on the qsnaps.  I put almost 1000 stitches into the balustrade yesterday so I would call it a win.  I'm hoping to get to the railing in the next couple of nights so I can move back over and hopefully work towards finishing this one this month.

Change of WIPs!

I think I've mentioned before that this tax season is besting my mojo.  Last week, I think I managed around 25 stitches on Garden Verses.  So I pulled her off the qsnaps and put her away for now.  Instead of Earth Song, I pulled out Chatelaine's Blue Moroccan Lace.  I didn't do a lot, but more than I did last week.

Garden Verses 3/5/18

I've managed a little more than what's in this photo, but I'm starting to get burned out on it...and I was hoping to finish it this go round.

I didn't manage to touch all my WIPs last year, so this year I'm hoping to touch all the rest.  Earth Song has been speaking to me recently so maybe I'll pull it back out.

Garden Verses 2/27/18

I've continued to make progress on Garden Verses.  

This week, I want to fill in the dress between what I have done already and the red cloak (I think that's what it is??) so I can move everything up.

Garden Verses 2/12/17

I completed a challenge for a Facebook group yesterday so I unclamped two sides and took a picture of Garden Verses.  She is coming along slowly but surely.  I've found the bottom right corner and started working my way back up.  I hope to finish all these flowers tonight so I can start either the purple of the dress that trails into the flowers or the column on the right side.

I'm still working on the skirt in Garden Verses.  But, I'm getting close to moving the qsnaps and moving to the columns!

Garden Verses update

When I picked Garden Verses back up, she looked like this.

After the weekend, I left her looking like this.  

While she's out this time, I would like to get the bottom half the chart done but that may be asking a lot.  At the rate I'm going, I may just get the dress filled in where I've already done some work.

I didn't make as much progress this weekend as I wanted but it was more than I expected.

Garden Verses to Heritage Sampler

I finally hit a wall with Garden Verses Friday night.  I just couldn't do any more.  So I finished the 10 stitches or so in the color I was working in and put her away.  I made more progress on her in the last two months than I have in the last 10 years so I'm happy.  I'm hoping the next time I pull her out, she'll get finished.

I had trouble picking my next project.  I pulled out several and even thought about a new start but Chatelaine's Heritage Sampler won.  I didn't make a huge amount of progress this weekend since we had a baseball tournament but overall, I don't think I did too bad.

Garden Verses and 2 FFO's

Over the last week, I've continued to make progress on Garden Verses.  Here's a picture from Saturday when I moved my qsnaps.

I've since almost finished the purple, but I don't have another picture.

I also decided to frame a couple of pieces.  I started out with four but didn't like the frames for two of them once I brought them upstairs.  But two is better than what I had.

Both were frames purchased from Michaels, probably during a sale.  I tend to pick up square frames even if I don't know what I"m going to use them for.  The mat for FoF 79 started out white but I didn't like it with the stitching and the frame so I painted it black and speckled it with some silver.  I think it turned out pretty nice.

An update and an anniversary

Garden Verses is still out.  I need to rotate.  I brought Feathers in the Wind upstairs but that is still sitting on the coffee table.  Garden Verses is still making slow progress.

There was enough room at the bottom for that ribbon.  There isn't a huge amount, but enough.

Thirteen years ago, May 22, 2004, my little village was hit by the widest F4 tornado recorded to that point and almost wiped us off the map.  Thankfully, my son, who was almost 2, and I were not home at the time and my husband and pets made it through with only a few scratches.

We rebuilt our home right back on the same foundation and moved back one year later.

Slow progress

Since the last time I posted, I've made some pretty good progress.  Thursday, while at baseball practice, I needed to move the qsnaps so I took a picture

Since then, there was an all day state track meet that was three hours away.  My kid took 5th in his event!  Then there was frogging of everything I'd managed to stitch on the way to said track meet.  Then there was a baseball game last night.  It was too windy to stitch so I had a book out instead when my kid wasn't playing.

Here's a picture from yesterday when I was stuffing things in my bag to go to the game.

I get weird looks from some of the other parents when I stitch a game away but I don't know most of them well enough to just shoot the sh$% with them.  I'm just an introvert at heart so I bring something to occupy my brain while I watch my kid practice or during games.

Tonight, I get to go straight home after work, do a couple of chores, cook supper and STITCH!!  It's been a while since I've been able to go straight home and not spend so much time in the car.

First rose

I'm still plugging along on Garden Verses.  I'm kind of surprised she's been out this long but I'll take what I can get.  I've also realized how big a girl she is.  I've been working on her again for a little more than three weeks and still have A LOT to go.

I'm going to keep working on her while the bug is happy with her.  Here's where she is now.

What's in that blue bag?

Garden Verses by Mirabilia still has my full attention.  This is definitely another Mira that the photo on the front doesn't do it justice.  There is lots of metallic to give it an extra something, especially since this one has zero beads.  

I took my qsnaps off yesterday morning to take a picture for something else so here is everything I had stitched to that point.

Last night had definitely seen more progress.  I'm starting to wonder if my fabric will be big enough though since there is another drape of gown/cloak/whatever that goes lower than the point I am now.  I definitely need to check that out!
