10/22/24

Last night, I finished my crop of Nightshade.  While she isn't framed, she is on the short list to be FFO'd since I do have a frame for her.

I've just realized I didn't share a picture of my ending point for Warrior Alice this month.  I met my increased goal but didn't quite finish page 18.  It'll still be there in November.

Elizabeth Hall is out now and will hopefully be finished today or tomorrow. 

9/18/24

 Nightshade has received another 520 stitches.  Sadly, that still doesn't see the cropped portion finished.  Maybe next month.

Today, I have another new start with a friend.  We're starting Summer Moon from Plum Street Samplers.  I love this series!

8/17/24

I met my August goal for Nightshade today with 509 stitches

7/11/24

 I added 544 stirches to Nightshade today and I think I've figured out where I'm going to crop her which is shown by the black threads basted across the bottom.  I'm hoping to finish up the stitching in another month or so.

Sea Witch is out next.

4/30/24

 Yesterday, I added 303 stitches to Nightshade as I work towards filling in around where the frame will fit.  Here she is now

And with the frame, the space that needs to be completed to crop her.

Chatelaine's Polar Mandala is out now to work on my goal before May 1.

3/30/24

 I've struggled with pulling Nightshade out to finish this year.  So I thought I'd try something different, for me, and still be able to finish her.

I ordered this frame from Amazon and stuffed my WIP in it to see how she looked.  I'm pretty pleased.   I do need to add a little to the bottom right but I think this will work just fine.

I worked on Ann Tong Uffindell yesterday and met my goal with 621 stitches into the border.  I do plan to come back later this year and connect the border.

Next out is Sarah Redfearn from The Scarlett House.  I'm probably going to work on the border here too.

1/19/24

 Nightshade's stitches seemed to be never ending this month.  I may have to change my planned finish date but for now, we'll stick with 2024.

I've added 3023 stitches and with the unstirched black background,  she's at 90.43% complete.

1/15/24

 I'm about halfway through my January stitches and I've already added more than I have in years.  I think part of my hang up is which black stitches to leave and which to actually stitch.  So far so good.

6/25/23

 Nightshade's progress wasn't huge but here she is now. 

SS Daybreak came out next and I added to that dang tree.   I think the next time it comes out, I'm going to work on some sky too just to feel like i actually made progress.

Next project is Tilton's Feathers in the Wind.   I think I'm back to background so maybe I'll be able bang out a bunch of stitches.

I added 608 stitches to Nightshade and completed my goal for this WIP. 

Her Private Garden from HAED is out now so I can meet my goal on it as well.

I finished page 1 of Dragon Lord on 10/20/22.

I wondered how well the stones of the background would show up.  In at least this picture, they show up pretty well.

Then I pulled out an older WIP, Nightshade ad am working on giving her some love.  Other than a HAED BB SAL, she is my last full coverage piece that is being stitched 1x1.  Here's my starting point.

Last week I was of work and while I didn't get a huge amount of stitching done, I still managed to meet my remaining goals for 2019.

I'm fascinated how she looks front and back since I'm still managing to stitch her reversibly.  I'm planning to finish this blue motif at least before I pull something else out.

Nightshade page finish

Last night, I finished page 18, the fifth stitched page of Nightshade.

After I finished the page, I went back and stitched the black on her right between her hair and her neck.  Looking at the finished picture

the fall of her hair is way wider than the little bit I had stitched so it would make sense for the rest to be in shadow.

This morning, I pulled out Warrior Alice and Lust.

I plan to stitch page 2 of Warrior Alice before I move to page 21 of Lust

All that's left is her dress but that has so much confetti!!  Still, I'm hoping to finish this page this week.

Hat tricks

Last night, I finally finished the hat on Nightshade.  Who would have thought there are as many colors as there are there.  

I'm hoping to finish her face and hair this weekend and move into her left shoulder.

Nightshade

Last week was busy.  Usually, I manage to find time to pull out my stitching and make at least a little progress, but I barely made any progress last week.  There were two track meets, a couple of baseball practices and 3 track practices.  This week, there may or may not be track practices since last Friday was the last track meet and there are no baseball practices scheduled, yet.

April Wipocalypse

Then I decided to make sure my original measurements were right...and not so much.  I'm short fabric so I'm trying to rearrange (in my head right now) and decide which row(s) I'm going to skip to make this fit on my fabric.

I'm actually a little further than this.  I've got everything in the second quarter stitched except what's in the gold square.  I'm hoping to finish that tonight and get started on the next quarter.  I'm getting so very close to a finish on this one.  

Then I think I'm going to pull out Nightshade.  

My goal this year is to stitch the next page which will complete the row since I'm not stitching the black background.

I'll listen to almost anything or nothing at all.  Most evenings, you can find me parked in the living room in front of the TV whether I'm listening to what's on or I'm watching something else on Hulu or Netflix.  I also turn on the radio and stitch away as I don't have to pay any attention to whats happening on TV.  Many evenings, I'm at ball practice with my oldest.  I'll watch to see what they're doing and I'll have the radio on in the car.  Other evenings, we'll be outside on the patio.  The chickens talk to themselves and I'll just enjoy the quiet.

Nightshade and a new start

Late Friday night, I finished the 4th stitched page, page 17 of the chart, of Nightshade.  I really wasn't sure how her eye's would turn out and up close they don't look like much.  Step back or look at the picture and they didn't turn out too bad..

When I took this downstars to put away, I decided I was going to get fabric cut for the Heritage Sampler.  Turns out my scissors were dull and at almost 1 am, I wasn't in the mood to sharpen them and go back down to cut fabric.  So I marked where I needed to cut.  Do you know I cut fabric 48 inches long for this??  Holy cow!  My fabric was wide enough that I cut Daybreak out of the same width and it is only 42 inches long.

I've managed a little progress this weekend on The Heritage Sampler.  Yesterday was kind of a lost cause since my DH wanted to go buy lumber so I can build my youngest DS a new bed..  I stuck a couple pieces for another project in there too and still managed to not spend a lot of money on lumber.  Today, I've managed a little more.

One of the colors I picked didn't play so nice here so I spent some time digging through my HDF to find one I like better.  It isn't quite like the original, but I"m happy and that's what counts.

Nightshade and stash enhancement

First up.  Here's my current WIP pic.  Nightshade has made some pretty good progress considering it's been a busy week and there is so much confetti.  I'm still debating on something though.  See her fingers?  There are four stitches that are supposed to be black there.  I haven't added them yet because I want to get the definition of her fingers.  What do you think?

Yesterday, it was my birthday so I did a little stash enhancement AND I was RAK'd.  Very excited about that one.

It's Chatelaine's Heritage Sampler.

I won't be using my ancestors on it though.  I think I'm going to do it as a family sampler with myself and my DH, the day we were married and the birthdays of our children.  I had it all worked out in my head.  Probably should write that down on the chart so I don't forget.

HAED had a sale over the 4th of July too.  I splurged a little there too because I really liked the chart.  And I bought it Supersized.  I might be a little crazy!
