8/4/26

I've made pretty good progress on Loara Standish.

She kept me company all weekend.  But, I needed to put her away since this band is kind of slow for me.  She will return again though, maybe later this month or next month.  I do want to complete the current band and possibly the next two.

SS Daybreak is out now for it's August stitches.

8/1/26

I've met my goal for Summer Moon from Plum Street Samplers with 674 stitches.

I should have probably finished the roof but, I kept finding myself doom scrolling so I put it away.

Instead of pulling out one of my monthly WIPs, I pulled out Loara Standish who has been calling my name.  When I put her away the last time, I was kind of frustrated with starting/stopping threads on a reversable WIP on 56 ct.  I just decided to keep moving and see what happens.  Here's tonight's progress so far

10/19/25

Since my last update, I've met a couple goals.

I've finally finished band 8 of Loara Standish

front

and back

I've met my August goal for SS Daybreak with 1036 tent/518 full x stitches and 3.01% complete

I started Hagatha's Orange Hat from Just Nan on 10/17/25

And I had a stitchy day yesterday with a couple of friends and we stitched on Lady of the Flag.  It was a new start for them but I pulled out my WIP instead of starting Queen of Freedom.

10/11/25

I've finished page 26 and 32 of Loneliness of Autumn.  It's now 89.24% complete.

I'm not done working on this one yet.  I've completed 2372 tent/1186 full x stitches so far this month.  To leave just 5000 tent stitches per month for November and December, I need to add another 2780 tent stitches which should put me just over 5000 tent stitches for October.  My house will be quiet for the next week or so which means my stitchy time has increased just a bit.  In a perfect world, I could get all those stitches done this weekend but I'm probably going to continue a bit into next week.

I have been making a little progress on Loara too.  I would really love to get band 8 finished this weekend too.

My Fall Pumpkin Patch has gotten a little attention during breaks at work.  I've had my stand set up on my desk and have added a few stitches, 10 minutes at a time.

10/1/25

I thought I'd update my September progress on two WIPs that haven't really met a goal.

Fall Pumpkin Patch has seen 323 stitches and is quickly moving along.  I have added a few stitches this morning just because nothing else was really calling.

Loara Standish has seen 1272 stitches and I'm getting so close to having band 8 done so I can move onto some double running stitch rather than long armed cross stitch in all directions.  I'm going to keep plugging away at her, even if it is just one leaf an evening.

Sea Witch is out.  I'm planning on a page finish this month.

9/22/25

Over the weekend, I added two more flowers to my current band of Loara Standish.  I wish I could have managed the last one, but it will wait until the next time I pick it up and hopefully be able to finish this band.

Warrior Alice is out next.  When I had her out earlier this month, I forgot that my goal is 2000 tent stitches instead of the 1000 that most of my WIPs are supposed to get this year.

9/5/25

I've made a little bit of progress on Loara Standish, not nearly as much as I would like but every little bit counts.  That first partial flower on the left took two days for the stitch path to click since this is being stitched reversibly.  Then the second full flower took just a couple hours last night.

I do plan to pick this back up later this month to keep working on this band.

Her Private Garden is next.

11/27/24

I've been off work this week which has been pretty awesome for my stitchy time.

Loara Standish got another 515 stitches

And Sarah Rickwood has gotten another 1084 stitches to get her to 88.01% which leaves her under 1000 stitches to finish

Best Friends is out next for 1000 or so tent stitches.

8/31/24

It looks like I didn't update IL Bosco di Bengtsson.   I've added 587 stitches

Then I pulled out Loara Standish for 537 stitches.  I really wasn't looking forward to those flowers so I moved to the next band.   I'll come back to them next year.

Then I pulled out Chatelaine's Heritage Sampler and added 501 stitches.

Since September is also known as Sampler September,  I'm starting a few Samplers or sampler-ish pieces with a friend, so there will be some new starts.  I'm hoping September is also when I see the first of several 2024 finishes.

4/20/24

Sometimes I question my life choices.  Other times I put ony big girl pants, pour a cup of coffee and do the hard things.  Or at least the things I've made out to be harder than they need to be.

I met my goal for Loara Standish with that double ble border made up of reversible long arm cross, reversible diagonal cross stitch and a little double running stitch.

Next up is Chatelaine's Hawaiian Garden Mandala

7/5/23

July has seen several projects.

Loara Standish has been sitting on my coffee table for a few weeks to try to incentivize myself to pick her up and meet my goal which was band 7 and to start band 8.  I did add band 7 which was the Standish stitch but band 8 was going to require more mental bandwidth than I had available.  Band 8 will either wait until later this year or next.

Last weekend, my hubby decided he wanted to take a day trip to go visit some antique stores.  So I pulled The Castle since it is on 32 ct and easier to stitch in the car.  I didn't get a lot of progress but it is further along than it was.

Next was the Master.  I've finished all the 310 in this page and started on the next color.

Since yesterday was 7/4, I decided it was high time I pulled out my kit of Lady of the Flag.  My MIL gave this to me years ago as a kit from Hobby Lobby.

I have decided to stitch the called for colors except for the hair.  There is so much yellow already in this chart that I think I'm going to convert it to brown.  I've also substituted the fabric provided and will be using Constitution 30ct fabric from The Primitive Hare.

 Band 6 of Loara Standish.

This completely final goal of 2022!

Sunday, December 4, 2022

12/4/22

Loara Standish is my last WIP to see progress this year.  Last night, I finished band 5.

I've started band 6 which is the same as band 4, just upside down and am not motivated right now.  I'm going to work on The Loneliness of Autumn for a few days and see if I can't finish band 6 then.

10/7/21

Tuesday, I finished page 8 of Sea Witch

I also pulled out Loara Standish.  I couldn't settle into working in her which tells me it's time to put her away for now.  Progress was made which is good.

Progress on Loara Standish, still reversible!

Steve Rousseau's Old European Sampler got a few more stitches this week.

The Earth Song came back out.  I would really like to see this column of pages done by the end of the month.

12/2/19

Last week I was of work and while I didn't get a huge amount of stitching done, I still managed to meet my remaining goals for 2019.

and finally Loara Standish.

I'm fascinated how she looks front and back since I'm still managing to stitch her reversibly.  I'm planning to finish this blue motif at least before I pull something else out.

An update

So it's been a rough couple of weeks.

On August 30, I became, unexpectedly, unemployed.  And let me just say, that sucked.

Things are looking up now and I have to totally agree with "When one door closes, another door opens" because I've found my open door and have gone through it.

Sadly, I didn't do a lot of stitching over the last two weeks.  My stitchy bug was chased away by the funk I found myself in.  Maybe it went on vacation with my appetite since I didn't have that either.  I lost 15 pounds which I'm totally aware isn't good.

Anyway.  I finished band 4 on Loara Standish

Then she was put away.

I pulled Beaded Dragonfly Tile back out and did make a bit of progress, mostly over a weekend.

Sea Witch came back out.

And I couldn't settle in with it.  So it was put away.

Then I decided maybe a new start would help and I pulled out a Kreinik Kit I bought at Hobby Lobby years ago, back when they actually had more than Dimensions kits.  This was probably about the time I was buying Mirabilia charts there.

I started

 and progress my first night

Two more goals met!

I hope all my readers had a great weekend!  Mine was a little busy with a birthday but I still managed to meet two more of my goals.

This WIP turned 15 Saturday

Love that kid!

Saturday, I finished page 2 of Tilton's Feathers in the Wind.

It then went back in with all the other WIPs and Loara Standish came back out.  Sunday, I finished band 3.  And since I'm a little crazy and stitching this pretty girl reversibly on 50ct Kingston, here are the
front

and back

Loara is still out and I'm working on band 4 which is all double running stitch.
