First finish of 2017

I put the last bead in last night.  Sadly, this is the best picture I got even directly under the dining room light.  I won't see the sun at home until the weekend.

Woodland Wonder, new starts

I've almost finished Woodland Wonder!!  I just have to finish the beading and I'll have my first finish for 2017.

First tree beaded

Here's as far as I got on the second tree before it got too late.

The beads definitely change the look of the trees.  They were kind of drab before the beads were added.

On January 1, I was still obsessed with Woodland Wonder.  I had a couple of kits on the coffee table waiting for my New Year's start, but I didn't manage much.  I put a few stitches into He Came With the Rain by Unconventional XS

I also put a few more stitches into The Forgotten by Charting Creations

Woodland Wonder

I tried my hand at making a project bag this weekend.  I keep seeing them on etsy and everyone is ordering them in their floss tube videos.  I'm too cheap to do that.  So I picked up fabric and interfacing and tried to make my own.  The first one didn't turn out too bad but it feels huge.  I'm going to have to scale any future bags down.  But here's my first one.

I've been using a pillow case to stuff everything into for years.  This will be an interesting change.

I've been working on the deer in Woodland Wonder for the last week.  So. Much. Brown.  But he's done and I finally got started on his antlers.  Love them!

I'm hoping to finish the antlers tonight so I can move onto the trees.

Zenia update

I'm hoping this will be the last update on Zenia.

I've already been thinking about whether to pull out a WIP or start something new.  Over the last couple of weeks, I've been going through some of my stash and I found this.

A Stitcher's Heart by Sekas & Co.

I bought this from Hobby Lobby years ago on clearance.  It's charted for 11 count Aida with pinks.  I'm not buying 11 ct Aida so I shopped my stash and found a piece of opalescent fabric I think I bought from ebay.  I don't know what count it is but I think it is probably at least a 28 ct.  I converted the pinks to blues to match my taste and here's my floss toss

I haven't decided on bead color yet.  I need to figure out if I have enough of the blue since I like them better in the picture.

I also have Glendon Place's Woodland Wonder that is kitted and ready to go too.
