One last Dorothy update?

Ever since I finished Watergarden last week, I've been working steadily on Dorothy Walpole.  I'm hoping she'll be done by next weekend.  here's where she was last night.

January update

Yesterday, I finished up all the strawberries in the border and decided it was time to put Miss Dorothy down for a bit.  I'm planning on picking her back up later this month and working on her until she's finished.  But I need a little break.

Then, I debated about Rose Garden or Watergarden.  I decided that Watergarden hadn't been out for a while so it was time to give it some attention.  This is where I am tonight.

Now, back to the Super Bowl and Watergarden.

Last week, after my post, I did finish another page of Coat of Arms.  Here's page 6

Then, I thought about continuing on with page 7 but someone was whispering to me.  Yesterday, I finally got through the big green and gold flower that had held me up last time I had her out.  Don't know what it was about that flower, but the leaves and flowers since then have been much easier.  Here's where Dorothy is right now and I'm hoping to get the next big flower in this row done today and move down a bit more and make sure my border matches.

I'll let you know how that goes.

Looking forward to 2014

Since 2013, was not the best year for me or for my family, I'm looking forward to what 2014 brings.  Hopefully, with the job interview #3 for the same company, it comes with a hefty raise!  Anyway, you're not here for that.  You're here for the stitching.  Am I right?

When I was putting the post for my review of 2013 together, I started thinking about what 2014 would bring too.  Since the 2013 post was so long, I decided that starting a new post for the new year was in order.

I plan to make progress on all of the above plus samplers such as Ann Bower, M. Woods and others.  I would like to start a couple of Chatelaines such as the Polar Mandala, The Hawaiian Mandala and the Art Nouveau Sampler.  I also plan to have a new years start later today and sometime this year start and make some good progress on Her Private Garden from HAED.

At the beginning of this year, I had a whole pile of WIPs I wanted to finish.  I think I did a pretty good job of meeting those goals.  I thought I would share a pictorial review of my progress this year.

October progress and November goals

For October, I just wanted to make some progress on my active WIPs.  Here's how I did...

I also had a new start.

I started HAED's Nightshade on Halloween.  After all, is there a better time to start stitching a witch?

I'm not stitching all those pages of black so here's the first page of actual stitching

Not too bad hmmm?  Especially since there isn't really any block stitching yet.  

For November, I would like to see a couple of page finishes.  I want to finish page 15 of Lust and the current page of Nightshade and the page just to the left which will finish up the left edge of the hat and start the broom.  After that, just make more progress and possibly start Her Private Garden.
