Finish #5 for 2013

About 1am today, I finished the final mystery from Sticklounge.  Unless something drastic happens, the group will close at the end of June.  I've had a lot of fun stitching what was offered over the last three years.  Just to reminisce, I think I'll pull some pictures back up.

and finally there is the last mystery

Now, Dorothy is back on the q-snaps so I'm going to go pour a hot cup of coffee and work on the bargello band for a bit.

Homage

I finished part 7 of this one last night while the boys were playing ball and lasagna was in the oven.  There is only one part to finish on this one for which I'm thankful.  I started this piece not exactly excited about the colors but I liked the proverb.  Just a little further and it will be done!

Rencently on the HDF blog, there's been a lot of talk about a 17th century sampler reproductions and I got bit by that bug, hard!  You can see Loara Standish here  She's a pretty band sampler that, from what I read, is the oldest signed American sampler.  Pretty cool huh?  In my wandering through what google listed for me, I also found Elizabeth Creasey.  I guess it's a good thing my birthday is coming in a couple of months because that one got ordered too.  I pretty much blew my stash budget, but it was so much fun!

Joyce, Sticklounge is only open to 100 member and they've split that between German and English speaking members.  I'll try to post something here if they open it back up.  If that happens, when/if you join, just let them know I'll be your godmother.

Patches, if you're interested in doing a conversion to HDF let me know.  If it's one I've done, I can let you know what I've done.  If I haven't I'm more than willing to help you come up with one.

Later!  Gotta at least pretend to work today. :)

Sticklounge

I've been working on Sticklounge pieces this week.  This is Homage to Japan.  I finished part 6 Wednesday night.  Part 7 was in my inbox yesterday and I started part 7 last night, but I didn't get very far.

Here's a new one.  It's called Friendship heart.  When it's complete it will be in the shape of a heart.  The picture that was shown when it was introduced to the group had it finished in a pillow which was very pretty.  But, since I have three cats, I don't know how well that would work out for me.   I sent this picture to the group this morning before I left for work and by the time I opened my e-mail again, part two was waiting for me.  This stitches really fast so I should have part 2 done in time for part 3 on Monday.

This morning, instead of packing Homage to Japan, I pulled One Nation out of my WIP pile.  I thought it would be a nice change and a little different while I wait for new Chatelaine parts to come out on May 1.

Later!

Playin hookey!

I've been naughty this week. Monday and Tuesday, I stayed home from work for no good reason. It's been a very long March at work. To make a long story short, on Feb 1, the server at work crashed. It took a month to get the data restored and installed on a new server. So the month of March involved all the work from February and March. Fun!! Not. I did get caught up by the 15th of March though. So I thought I deserved a couple days off. Here's what I've gotten accomplished this week. Part 5 of Homage to Japan. Those rows of squares at the very top were supposed to be every single color in this piece. I decided I didn't want to do that so I picked out one color for each row. It stitched up much faster this way! Part 2 of Purple Garden. Looking at the chart of this one made me realize that I had looked at it wrong. I only needed the darkest color for the central motif on the larger motif in the top left corner. This part stitched up in an evening. Part 3 came out Friday and I'm planning to pick this piece back up is just a little bit.
Part 4 of Winter Watergaden. I had the upper leaves on this one stitched up Thursday night since Martina was kind enought to release this part a day early. We went out to supper and got groceries last night though, so I was only able to to get the third leaf done and finished part 4 today. I really love these leaves! I did find a counting error in the trees while stitiching part 4 but I'm not going to tell where it is. I'm NOT going to frog the trees!
I also picked up Frosty Knotgarden for a little while this week and got the upper right side of part5 and 6 done. 1900 ABC also got some attention. I got about half a page done on that one. Both of those will make an appearance here when they make some more progress.

Don't get used to this or anything. I mean seriously, a post a day is a bit much but I just finished part 4 of Homage to Japan that I'm stitching with Sticklounge. This was a very easy piece which is what led to the daily post.

Now, on to Purple Garden, another piece with Sticklounge.
