Finish #5 for 2013

About 1am today, I finished the final mystery from Sticklounge.  Unless something drastic happens, the group will close at the end of June.  I've had a lot of fun stitching what was offered over the last three years.  Just to reminisce, I think I'll pull some pictures back up.

and finally there is the last mystery

Now, Dorothy is back on the q-snaps so I'm going to go pour a hot cup of coffee and work on the bargello band for a bit.

Deep Blue Sea and a finish!

No, I haven't managed to finish Deep Blue Sea.  I did manage to finish Iris tonight though.  Up until Friday evening, I had behaved myself and was working on Deep Blue Sea.  Then Iris just caught my attention and I have a finish!

Here's where I left Deep Blue Sea.  Hopefully in the next day or so, you'll see another update.

Iris and Dorothy again

Yesterday was spent being lazy and I got to stitch!  I started part 5 of Iris Friday and finished it up yesterday afternoon.  I just got page 6 in my inbox so I have the last page to finish it up but I don't think it is going to happen today.

After I put Iris away, Dorothy came back out and I finally finished page 4.

I'm slowly making progress.

Now I just need to decide if I want to work on page 5 of Dorothy, part 10 of Deep Blue Sea or work on taxes.  I'm almost done with them too.

Dorothy and Iris

Since I'm still getting over whatever nasty bug laid me low at the end of February, I've slowed down on my stitching a bit too.  I think in part I got to the over one part of Dorothy Walpole and stopped making so much progress so I lost interest.

Instead of not stitching at all, I pulled Iris back out.  Most of the progress on this part is since Friday at lunch.    I should be getting the next part soon since the Sticklounge group is closing and they've decided to make sure everybody gets all the parts of the pieces they're doing.  After I finish the last part of Iris, I have another Sticklounge piece that I have kitted but not started.  I need to make some progress on it before June to get the rest of the parts.

Now, I suppose I'll go pull Dorothy back out and see if I can make some more progress on the over one so I can move onto the next band.  If memory serves, it is a band of eyelets followed by a band of bargello.  That's the one I'm looking forward to.

Iris

Thanks for all the great comments!  I really appreciate them.

As promised, I have an update on Iris that is being stitched with the Sticklounge group.  Now, I have to go decide what to stitch next.  Loara is probably out tonight since it is 11:30 and I'm just going to finish watching the first episode of season 2 of Game of Thrones before bed.

Snow, baby snow!

It's amazing how much stitching one I seem to get done when my DH isn't home.  Since he works most Sundays and today was a holiday so the kids didn't have school, I got two days to stitch with limited interruptions.  I need to win the lottery or something so that can happen more often!  I'm doubly glad I didn't have to go anywhere today since we got some snow and drivers in the city where I work don't seem to be able to remember how to drive on it.  So double yay!

With my abundance of stitching time, I managed to finish part 2 of Iris B that I'm stitching with Sticklounge.  I have made changes to the charted colors just because I didn't feel like ordering what I was missing opting to stitch from my stash instead.  The gold is the only major change.  It was charted as a darker gold color instead of the antique gold I'm using.  I'm still happy with the way it looks though.

Iris

First, I would like to thank you all for the kind comments I received about my last post.

Thank you!

After we got home from the funeral last Wednesday, I had something start churning in my head.  My sister read a poem during the service that just resonates with me.  So, I sent my mom, brother and sister a text asking what colors they thought of when they thought of dad.  I like color, but I think they all thought I was a little crazy.  Maybe, maybe not.  Anyway, mom said purple for dad's irises. That got me thinking beyond the poem.  Sticklounge had a new project that was called Iris.  OK.  I had it mostly kitted up, just had to pull some Petite Treasure Braid instead of the Krenik as charted and I was off.  Here's the first part of Iris

Before I forget though, does anybody know of any charts out there of celtic knots?  I think at one time, I saw a website that would help you chart whatever you wanted, but that could be my imagination.
