Confetti!

Holy cow there is a lot of confetti in Lonliness of Autmn!  I know that's what gives it such great shading so I just have to deal with it.

I've been making pretty good progress.  Enough so that I'm hoping for another page finish this week.

Until then...

Snowy progress

Yesterday morning, before I managed to drag myself away from my warm bed, it had already started snowing...and it hasn't quit since then.  My DH cleared the driveway once yesterday afternoon and he's out there again now.  He did go into work this morning and said a stop sign in town has snow drifted to the very bottom of the sign.  This after we've not gotten any major snow this winter.  Yikes!  I'm waiting to see if I have to go into work tomorrow or not.  School has already been called off for the boys...lucky boys!

This week, I've made pretty good progress on Loneliness of Autumn.  I finished page 1 on 1/29/15.

Since then, I've gone all the way across page two and halfway down with lots and lots of 939.  I've started adding some 3371 too just for variety.

Here's what it looks like now.

I'm planning on keeping this out for a while longer.  I seem to be doing pretty well with rotating projects by month.  Doesn't get a lot of progress done on any one project, but they all see some love that way...at least as long as I manage it.

Page finish!

I've just finished page two of Earth Song!   Yay!

I was debating sticking with the wolves for a bit, but I decided I'm going to go for a page finish with The Lonliness of Autumn from Love Thy Thread.

Wolf #3

Over the weekend I found another wolf in Earth Song.  It took me all day yesterday to get him stitched though since he is definitely all confetti.

I hope to finish the rest of the page by the end of the week.

I want to thank everyone for the well wishes in regards to my job search.  I ended up only being unemployed for one week.  Last Monday and Tuesday, I interviewed with two companies, both of whom extended me job offers and I started last Wednesday.  It took so much stress out of my life!

I see the moon!

First up.  The stitchy stuff.   Friday, I finally started feeling a little better and picked Earth Song back up.  I filled in the moon last night along with lots of 939.  The current picture is below.

Second.  I've been pretty persistent with a potential job.  I have an interview set up for Monday morning (happy thoughts please!).  I friend knows the owner and has given me a very nice reference so I hope it goes well.  I am also working with two staffing companies which have talked about a position at a company a little bit closer.  One has already sent my resume over.  Im optimistic which is why my outlook has gotten better and I've been able to pick my stitching back up.

Earth Song

Hi there and welcome to my new followers!

I've discovered that stitching from stash is probably going to be easier than I thought this year.  Tuesday, I was downsized from my job.  They did give me the rest of this week paid to try and look for work and they gave me a little severance.  I spent all day yesterday updating my resume and sending it to anyone who had posted a job opening that I thought might fit.  I also called a staffing agency I've worked with before who had a position they thought might help.  I also reactivated my account with a second agency.

This morning I got a call with a temporary position that has a chance of turning into a permanent one.  It's for a company that I used to deal with quite a bit in one of my former jobs.  I asked a former co-worker what she thought and she called them right up to tell them about me.  Fortunately, she can give them more of an idea of why I left than I can.  I won't trash talk anyone.  It makes me look bad.  They're interested in interviewing me.  I just have to call.  But, since the placement agency told me aout the position and sent my resume over, I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I have done a little stitching.  Most of what I've done since finishing the tree skirt was done before Tuesday.  I've just been too depressed over losing a job to do a lot.  But here is my update on Earth Song.

First finish of 2015

Here Comes Santa tree skirt is finished!!

This one took more time than I thought it would to finish.  I picked it back up on December 2nd and thought it would only take a couple of weeks to finish off.  Boy was I ever wrong!  I don't know if it was the 11 count Aida or what!

Now, I think I'm going to go pick up Earth Song for a bit.  There's nothing like lots of block stitching!  But, my DH asked me tonight if I could stitch a poem and picture he found for his folks so we shall see.  I have to try to find some inexpensive software that imports from a scanner or picture to make that happen.

Later!
